LEADERSHIP MODEL OF JESUS
Leadership is the act of leading others toward a stated vision or goal. The act of leadership is carried out by a LEADER. And for you to be a productive leader, you must have been a follower, and as a leader, you must be willing to sacrifice, tolerate, and endure a lot of things to see to the actualization of your dreams and your goals.
We will look at the leadership model of Jesus closely as we proceed.
TEXT: Matthew chapter 9 vs. 9 says And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
We will be looking at the three different ways the leadership of Jesus was modeled in our text.
THE THREE STAGES OF THE LEADERSHIP MODEL OF JESUS

RECRUITMENT
From the text, the first set of people Jesus recruited were fishermen who were actively involved in the business. Jesus did so much with men who has something they were already doing before he came for them.
This brings me to the point of saying that to be successful in business, you must structure your business.
Anyone that Jesus recruited influences their own circle of business. Influence can be spiritual, physical, positive, or negative influence.
2 TRAINING
After Jesus recruited them, he separated them for training, it is important to note that the importance of leadership training can’t be over-emphasized as it is the bedrock of raising effective leaders.
Jesus taught them to pray, as the bible would say, prayer is the key and the master’s key.
You can build a prayer foundation for every aspect of the business.
Mark chapter 3 vs. 13 says: And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.
Until the burden you have has been transferred to the next generation, you are a failure.
The focus of the leadership model of Jesus was teaching them and impacting them in the Holy Spirit.
As a man, a leader, you have an office as a husband, and as a prophet. Don’t give up on any project God has not given up on, you will be doing yourself no good.
Jesus modeled Character, integrity, and faithfulness during his days on earth, and he expects us as his representatives to do much more because he has promised that greater thing he did which we also will do.
When God wants to bless you, he tests you, the question here is will you be able to pass the test when the time comes? My prayer is that we receive the grace to pass the test from God that will lunch us to another level, Amen.
Any man who can’t serve God with his resources can’t have time for God.
Matthew chapter 5 vs. 13- 16 says;
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under the foot of men.
  14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
  15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
QUALITIES OF THE LEADERSHIP MODEL OF JESUS
- As a leader your life should preserve, and sweeten, that’s why God said we are the salt of the earth. Anywhere we find ourselves we should exhibit sweetening, and preservation, even in our families, we can’t know God and things keep going wrong in our families, Jesus said I come that they may have life and have it in abundance.
- As a leader you must give direction, if you can’t lead yourself, you can’t lead others.
Make it a point of duty to make sure that people see reasons to believe that you are capable of leading them. Jesus made his disciples understand that he has what they needed and that made him not struggle to convince them.
3 DEPLOYMENT
After Jesus recruited his disciples, the next thing he did was to train them, after training them he deployed them to exercise and practice what they have learned from him.
Let’s look into the book of Luke chapter 10 vs. 1 -20 which says;  1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he would come. Jesus knew there was a need to deploy these men after spending so much time with him, in our time it’s called EVANGELISM, Sharing your faith with others.
  2 Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.
  3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
  4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
  5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
  6 And if the son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
  7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
  8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
  9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, the kingdom of God comes nigh unto you.
  10 But into whatsoever city, ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
  11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God comes nigh unto you.
  12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
  13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
  14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
  15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
  16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
  17 And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
  18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
  19 Behold, I give unto you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. The joy of these Apostles know no bound when they saw what they could do. You don’t know what you can do until you try doing something. Step all out of your comfort zone and say no to procrastination, and laziness, and shake yourself off from every state of despondency.
  20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Leaders go as an advance party in any area they want to bring revival, on getting to the place they pray and set up structures.
For every leader, your primary place of assignment is your family, if you fail in leading your family, you have failed in every area of life.
Travail in the place of prayer till Jesus is formed.
